"My name is Edmund Kwamenah Mensah Frye and I am a global citizen with roots in Ghana, West Africa. My journey has included over 40 years in the Niagara Region and I am thankful for every experience as they have equipped me with the ability to relate to Black Canadians who may be struggling with their own identities, as well as Newcomers who may be transitioning to Canadian culture. I have been serving our community with the talented team at the Niagara Folk Arts for over 10 years.

In my time calling Niagara "home" I have pursued interests in Construction Sciences and aspire to develop sustainable communities. My passions include the betterment of every individual within my network, my community, and beyond. As a non custodial parent of two bi-racial young women and caregiver in a non traditional family unit, I am continually reminded I have the power to choose my own definition of success. I have gained experience in many Canadian systems including; the Criminal Court, the Pardon and Parole Board of Canada, the Family Responsibility Office, the Mental Health, Social Housing, and Ontario Works - I embrace each and every lived experience as it affords me the opportunity to connect with others who may be enduring challenges to find their own definitions of success."
