Emad
"My name is Emad Shehata and I have been in Canada for 2 years and 7 months right now. I am originally from Alexandria, Egypt, but I came from Mexico. I speak Arabic, Spanish, English and a little French.
I am currently volunteering with Arabic translation during the pandemic and have helped with various kitchen jobs such as being part of the Centre’s Eid Celebration last year. When I arrived at the Centre, I saw very nice people and that the only intention they have is helping - I wished in this moment to be a part of their team.
I’ve learned that bad times can be good times - they can be taken as an opportunity to grow. I am currently taking an online course to get my license to be a fencing coach now."
