"My name is Preeti Gupta and I am an experienced Canadian volunteer. I am from Delhi, India and have lived in Ontario, Canada for over 7 years. I speak Hindi and English.

I have been volunteering with Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre since November 2019 as a Career Mentor (HR) for newcomers to Canada. I am glad that I have the opportunity to connect with staff members at the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre and newcomers to Canada.

I love volunteering with Niagara Folk Arts because I am gaining the opportunity to connect with newcomers from different countries, learning about their culture and am able to share the resources and information which I have learned so far from my personal experiences.

Volunteering alongside newcomers has allowed me to expand on my abilities to share my personal experiences and learn how I can apply this to the newcomers’ experiences.

When I am not volunteering, I enjoy going on adventures and exploring new places, especially small towns around Ontario. I love going on hikes by myself and with my social circle. I enjoy listening to thought-provoking podcasts and learning new skills through a variety of opportunities that arise."
